Machined Acrylic
It's no secret that I have an affinity to cars including my car in particular. In spite of this affinity, there was one thing that has bugged me about my car. The wheels of a car are arguably one of the most important features that impact its overall appearance. I really like the wheels on my car, but I hate the center caps. Its like having a diamond cocktail ring with a little piece of coal mounted in the middle. (Sidebar: As you can see the center cap has the head of a cobra. It reminds me of a GI Joe toy from the 80s crossed with a Mustang from the late 70s. End Sidebar)

So I went out in search of a suitable alternative. I like the stock Mustang Bullitt wheel center caps, and after getting a lightly used set off Craigslist, I discovered they were a tiny bit big for my aftermarket wheels. With some trepidation, I used a Dremel tool to machine about 1/16 of inch off the face all the way around and about 1/8 of an inch off the back of the face. Hence the end product.

OBB knows you should never smile when posing with car parts.
