Say it ain't so...

(A picture of my 400ex the day I bought it so many years ago.)
Honda recently announced several of their 2008 models. Noticeably absent from the list was the venerable 400ex. Could it be? The company that has been building the 300ex for about 20 years is killing off one of its mainstays after a mere 8 years?
Maybe they are giving it a refresh and waiting for fall to make a splash with a timely announcement. A few extra cc's to compete with some of the newer designs. My heart wants to believe, but my mind says no. Now that the 450r has electric start, I guess there is no room in the Honda family for the older, overweight machine that helped jump start the sport ATV market out of hibernation.

Comments:
man. thats crazy. i would have thought they would discontinue the 300 before the 400.

maybe they will build an "X" version of the R like they do with the dirtbikes.

hellooooooo. anybody there? I'm somewhere where i don't know where i am.

Head towards the light.
