Unseemly Denouement

Reassembled, tested, and resting quietly in the garage. She is back together again, ready for an early autumn ride in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

This time I tried something new during the bearing housing assembly process.

I put the new bearings in the freezer for about an hour and left the housing out in the 80 degree heat. Hard to know if the temperature differential really made a difference, but it was worth a try.

Next, I need to do the same thing to the Lakota. Preferably, before it is time to start cleaning up leaves.

Comments:
I've got a sleeping bag rated to 20 degrees this time. Bring it on.
